Why 5 stars? Because the dough was as good as it gets. --- --- --- The name is dough. They offer dough for kids to play with. And their pizza dough is unbelievably great. I'm beginning to see a pattern. We started off with the Burrata and it was among the best I've ever had. It's pricey, but don't come here without ordering this. For pizza, we went with one Amore di Maiale (Pork Love), and one special that had prosciutto jam on it. I'm annoyed I can't remember the name of it, but I liked the special more than the pork love. But if we lived in the area, I would probably come back here and try literally every pizza on the menu because the dough was so unreal. We finished with panna cotta and it was perfect. No notes. Good stuff all around from Dough HQ!

I took my kids to dinner at Dough after a day spent in Hill Country. The weather was beautiful, so we opted to dine al fresco. The comforting jazz music provided a perfect soundtrack to the evening as we watched the sunset during our meal. Isabella provided stellar service and the meal was excellent. Dough has THE BEST gluten free pizza in San Antonio! I don't get pizza often due to my dietary restrictions, so it was a wonderful treat. Not pictured is the tasty small Nonna salad I devoured before the delicious pizzas arrived. I also ordered the Sin & Saint non-alcoholic drink. It reminded me of an elevated fruit punch with a nice, tart finish from the fresh lime juice. My teenage son ordered the raspberry lemonade, which he enjoyed. P.S. If you have room after your meal, I highly recommend the panna cotta and espresso to close out the meal.

Tried this place for the first time because we heard all the hype. Service was a bit slow and it wasn't even that busy. Nice atmosphere and welcoming. We ordered our pizza and it was good. The only issue i had was the sauce was a little salty and didn't taste as fresh as it should have. A little pricy so bring your big wallet. I recommend you try it and decide for yourself. I will just say I've had better pizza

Came to have lunch as we were in the area & hubs wanted pizza. Last time we were here was for the Culinaria lunch special. It was a little before 2pm so we were able to get the M-F Lunch special which included your choice of 8" pizzas, a salad or Bruschetta appetizer & dessert(Tiramisu or Gelato). We both chose Spring Green "Casa" salads, Margherita pizzas(since it was Ash Wednesday) & I got the Tiramisu slice & hubs got the Berry Gelato. Salads were cold, nice, had tender Baby Greens with cold, firm colored Cherry Tomatoes lightly dressed with tasty croutons. I'm not a croutons person but these were nicely seasoned & slightly buttery tasting. Julian was our courteous & polite waiter & he informed us that our pizzas weren't fired up yet as he expected but I said it was okay as they bake pretty quickly & he agreed! The crust was slightly burnt on the bottom but I just scraped off the burnt part. Cheese was gooey & tomato sauce was all fresh w/fresh basil leaves. It didn't need anything else but I did try it with hot pepper flakes. I only ate 2 slices so I could have room for dessert. The Tiramisu was cold & refreshing, not heavy on the espresso flavor. The Berry Gelato was a big scoop & refreshing. Will be back again to try the other selections.

This past Sunday was National Pizza Day. It coincided with my friend, Teri's request to try @doughpizzeriasa on Blanco and 410. It's been a while since I've visited so this was great to celebrate Teri's belated birthday. Teri had the Blood Orange Cosmopolitan and I had the Pear Sour. We shared the Casa House Salad, Americana Pizza, and Tiramisu. Everything was very good from start to finish. Thankful to have a friend like Teri and get to celebrate her.

What a phenomenal experience I had here! Sitting at the bar I had a brilliant conversation with a gentleman from Italy who stated "this is the only place I have pizza that reminds me of home "!! Started with the appetizer of fresh Burratta... with Fresh, yellow tomato and flatbread. Classic pairing phenomenally done. Had their signature margerhita pizza!! The bartender was phenomenal and informative. When I explained to him this is my first time here. The ambience is relaxing and welcoming. I cannot wait to go back!

The service and atmosphere at dough was very nice. It's pricing and service is on the higher end of restaurants, and I felt a little underdressed but there seemed to be no formal dress code. Maybe because it was lunch time. This would be a good spot to have a business meal or to meet with someone. The waiter asked if we wanted sparkling or still water and I opted for sparkling. It gave me the impression it was complimentary / free but our table was charged $6 for it. It's not a huge matter because it's not that costly and you would normally expect to pay for a Soda or Tea, It's just the way it was offered we didn't expect it to be an additional charge. So just for the information of others who may not know. :) Our table ordered the burrata to share, which was delicious. I wish there would have been a little bit more balsamic, but you can't go wrong with such fresh ingredients coming together. I got the lunch combo with a Margherita Pizza and the tiramisu as dessert. The appeal of Dough pizza is that it is fired in a stone pizza oven that was imported from abroad and assembled here in San Antonio. While the pizza's dough was good and as expected, I found that the whole pizza was pretty plain. I've been to other special oven pizza restaurants but they had very strong flavor profiles with lots of herbs. Perhaps it was because I only ordered a Margherita pie, but I just wasn't wowed by the pizza. I don't have the biggest sweet tooth so as far as the tiramisu goes, it was perfect to me. I would come here again on the right occasion. The price point for me makes it more of a special treat but I would like to try a different pizza on their menu.

I had a lovely experience with my Family going to Dough Pizzaria Napoletana. It was my first time having lunch there, we all enjoyed the same Misto salad which had the best dressing, and the roasted garlic was perfect. We all also had the Margherita Pizza and it was so very good, cooked in a brick oven. The service was phenomenal and being with my Family made me feel wonderful. I really recommend this restaurant for all occasions, it's beautiful and the service is great and so very clean. Take your friends! Take your Family! Take your Beloved! You will be pleasantly surprised! :)

I have been thinking of this restaurant for a while - we finally had time and a reason to drive across town to enjoy my Birthday! When we checked in they didn't have our reservation - I thought this would throw the whole night off, but the hostess made it happen and seated us right away. Our server Dan was awesome - perfect suggestions (we took them all) timing and attention. I am picky, I worked in the restaurant and bar industry for 15years and know what great food should be. Explaining everything from the history of the location and the awesome wood burning pizza ovens imported from Italy! The atmosphere was very Italian - I lived there for a few years. The tables are very close but that helps keep the conversation intimate and personal. I would dine here again - must try the pizza next time

Very cool pizzeria that verges on a full-bore Italian restaurant. However, you're not going to find some Italian staples like pasta or fried calamari. In fact, you won't find fried anything, as they've cleverly based their menu on whatever goes into their beautiful wood-fired pizza oven. Ambiance is top notch as the inside is designed beautifully, as is the patio. Service is very good, though the wait staff needs to be better trained on the wine list. I found the food to be very good, not great. The roasted version of the calamari and shrimp is nice, but leaves you wanting the 'real thing'. Drinks are good (try the cucumber zero-alcohol cocktail) and the pizza...well, it's tasty and Neapolitan in style. The house-made pepperoni on the 'Americana' is okay but a little tough, and the sausage is surprisingly bland. The Neapolitan style crust is soft and chewy where it should be, though it soaks through easily with the greasier toppings. Average it out, and I'd eagerly come back! This place scores a 4 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK having a nosh here with Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus' Dad. 2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. Wouldn't have my last supper here. 1 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Nobody good. I wouldn't have my penultimate supper here, either.
